Fox Nation chides Obama for not filling HHS secretary, neglects to mention Republican filibuster

April 28, 2009

You have to hand it to Fox Nation.  They actually rely on the fact that you only get your news from one source: Fox.  If you are a news connoisseur like the majority of well-informed Americans, you know that the majority of their stories contain brazen half truths.

Fox Nation can only update when stories are released that concur with their message. Thats why there are so few new stories every day.

Fox Nation can only update when stories are released that concur with their message. That's why there are so few new stories every day.

Let’s take this gem for an example.

Headline: Obama Unprepared for Swine Flu Scare?

Snip-it: President Obama went golfing and the Department of Health and Human Services is short a secretary, so other U.S. officials took the controls Sunday as the Obama administration ramps up efforts to find and isolate U.S. cases of swine flu.

Full Article: Fox News

The headline, of course, implies that Obama was not ready for the flu scare.  You know what would have helped?  The money that was removed from the stimulus bill for pandemic flu preparedness by a Republican Senator from Maine.  Does that get a mention on Fox Nation?  Ha!

The Snip-it, otherwise known as the only two sentences that any Fox Nation devotee reads, claims that Obama is “short” a Department of Health and Human Services secretary.  Any guesses why that position is unfilled?  Because the motherfucking Republicans in the Senate are filibustering Kathleen Sebelius.  Why?  She’s pro-choice.  Shocking for a Democrat, I know.

The full article doesn’t mention Sebelius until the 11th paragraph.  You know how many people read until the 11th paragraph of any article they find on the internet?  Nobody.  And that is what they rely on.

Dumbest Comment Volume 1: Huffington Post vs. Fox Nation

April 20, 2009

Welcome to our first volume of the Dumbest Comment where we nominate two of the dumbest comments from the blogosphere for a battle royale for supreme stupidity.

Without futher ado, let the dumbassery begin!

Story: Bush Should be Deposed in Lawsuit Over Presidential Library, Judge Rules

User: benjaminblue

Call him in for absolutely any reason — underhand real estate dealings for the library, jay-walking or whatever. Once he’s there, lock the door and throw away the key. There is ample evidence that this man is a dangerous criminal, one guilty of hundreds, if not thousands, of inane, immoral, illegal and treasonous deeds. All that remains is to incarcerate him.

Story: Rush: Should Tea Parties Lead to 3rd Party?

User:  The Proctologist

No matter how many different parties you have you will never please everybody. This is why the party that can lie the best is the one that wins. There are many people that supported Obama that couldn’t tell you how many judges sit on the supreme court. Many for the first time because of color or how much they would get. Than there are the the ones with white guilt that in their minds makes them non racist by voting for a black man that clearly was not the right person for the job. This country has come to the point where everything must be politically correct, we must sacrifice integrity, morals, honor, and now security all in the name of affirmative action. The GOP needs to get back to basics, starting with honesty being the best policy. Than they need to educate the people on the fact that they do much better, and the country does better when they support themselves. “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link” and we wonder why the country is about to snap!!!

It’s the battle of the thesaurus gone awry (benjaminblue) vs. thinly-veiled racism (The Proctologist).  Who will come out on top for today’s dumbest comment?
